To facilitate a smooth transfer of KDP accounts, including books and related assets, between buyers and sellers on Silky Road.
Both buyer and seller must maintain responsive communication to prevent delays.
Open communication is essential for a seamless transfer process.
Fund Approval & Escrow Confirmation
The buyer transfers the agreed funds to Silky Road’s optional escrow.
Once funds are secured, Silky Road notifies both parties, signaling the start of the transfer process.
Required Buyer Information Before merging, the buyer must provide the seller with:
Full Name (as registered on the KDP account)
A Link to One of the Buyer’s Books (if any) Note: If the buyer lacks a KDP account, they must create one (see Appendix A) before proceeding.
Seller Initiates the Merge Request
The seller emails Amazon to request merging their KDP account with the buyer’s account, including both parties’ email addresses.
Amazon acknowledges the request and sends a confirmation email to the buyer.
Buyer Confirms the Merge Request
The buyer responds promptly to Amazon’s email, approving the merge.
Amazon processes the request within 24–72 hours. Both parties should respond to any additional Amazon inquiries.
Monitoring the Transfer
The buyer checks their KDP Bookshelf multiple times daily to confirm when books appear.
Once transferred, the buyer confirms with the seller via Silky Road’s Deal Room chat.
Accessing Manuscripts & Covers
After confirming books in their KDP account, the buyer receives a shared link from the seller for manuscripts and cover files.
Buyer Confirms Asset Transfer & Releases Funds
The buyer verifies all transferred assets (books, manuscripts, covers) match the agreement.
Once satisfied, the buyer releases payment to the seller.
