How to pay your listing fee in Bitcoin, how long confirmation takes, and why you do not need to keep the checkout page open.
Bitcoin is one of the payment methods that settles on Silky Road itself. You use it to pay for your listing package when you publish a listing. Payment runs through BTCPay Server: you get a checkout link, you send the coins, and your listing goes live automatically once the payment confirms.
Bitcoin pays your listing fee. It is not a way to buy an asset from another member.
The payment waits for one confirmation, which in practice is around ten minutes rather than seconds. A short wait is normal.
You do not need to keep the checkout page open. Your listing publishes whether you are watching or not, so closing the tab does not lose your payment.
One wording to watch: settled is not the same as live. Settled means the coins have arrived. Your listing appears once it has actually been published, which follows shortly after.
If you already have an open, unexpired invoice for the same listing at the same price, you are given that same invoice again rather than a second one.
If you changed the listing or its price between attempts, a new invoice is created instead. In that case pay only one of them — paying both means paying twice.
Start again from the sell form and a new invoice is created. How long an invoice stays valid is set by the payment server rather than being a fixed number of minutes, so check the expiry shown on the invoice itself rather than assuming.
An invoice publishes the listing exactly as it was when the invoice was created. Editing the sell form afterwards does not change what a paid invoice delivers. If you have made changes, start a new checkout.
Bitcoin payments cannot be reversed from your side once sent, so it is worth checking the amount and the listing before you pay.
