How to add a payment method to your profile, edit or remove one, and set the default that buyers see first.
Your payment methods are the ways you tell buyers you are willing to be paid for a listing you are selling. You keep the list on your profile, and it feeds the sell form.
There are three: Silky Road Wallet, PayPal, and Bitcoin (BTCPay). Cards and bank accounts are not supported.
A Bitcoin address is checked when you add it. If it fails you will see Invalid Bitcoin address — copy the address again from your wallet rather than retyping it, as a single wrong character will fail the check.
If you choose a type that is not one of the three, you will see Invalid payment method type.
You can change a method's details and its display name. You cannot change its type — to move from PayPal to Bitcoin, add a new method and remove the old one.
Two things worth knowing:
Your default method appears first in your list and is pre-selected for you. Only one method can be the default.
A method you have just added is never made the default automatically, and your first method is not made default for you either — you have to set it explicitly.
If your default disappears, the usual cause is that you set it from a stale list, or that you removed the method that held it. Reload your payment methods so you are working from current entries, then set the default again.
Removing a method takes it off your list, so buyers no longer see it as something you accept.
Nothing checks whether a method is advertised on a live listing before you remove it, so if you are actively selling, check your listings afterwards.
