Turn on two-factor authentication and follow these steps to keep your Silky Road account secure.
Keeping your account secure protects both you and the people you trade with. This guide covers two-factor authentication (2FA) and general account security.
2FA adds a second step to sign-in: after your password, you enter a one-time code from an authenticator app. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot sign in without your device.
Go to your Account Settings and start the 2FA setup.
Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy), then enter the code it shows to confirm.
Save your backup codes somewhere safe — they let you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator.
From then on, you will enter a code from your app each time you log in.
Use a strong, unique password that you do not reuse on other sites.
Verify your email address so you can recover your account and receive important notices.
You can also sign in with Google if you prefer.
Be alert to phishing — Silky Road will never ask for your password by email or message.
