How to Close Your Silky Road Account

Closing your account means you no longer wish to use Silky Road. This does not remove any outstanding obligations — such as unpaid fees, or completing a transfer if you are in an active transaction. Account closure cannot be used to avoid completing a sale, evade account sanctions, escape negative feedback from past transactions, or dissociate from links to other accounts. Closing your account also cancels any active listings.

To close your account, go to your Privacy settings. Under Delete Your Account, select Delete Account and type DELETE ACCOUNT to confirm.

This is handled as a data-erasure request: we erase your personal information and you will no longer be able to sign in. For legal and accounting reasons, records tied to completed transactions and to the other party in any deal are retained even after closure. If you would like a copy of your data first, you can export it from the same Privacy page before you delete.
Important: opening a new account after closing one is not permitted — you may not hold multiple accounts without our express written consent. If you have closed your account and wish to return, please contact our support team.
